ScaperCon 2003akaScaperCon: The Final ChapterScaperCon 4 aka SC2K3 was held August 1-3, 2003 at the Radisson O'Hare in Chicago, Illinois. |
| This year, I've done something I abhor seeing on the web; I've built these pages with a black background. As if that's not bad enough, I've added a red sub-background to complete the visually repulsive effect. I apologize. Given that this was the final ScaperCon, it just seemed appropriate to frame the memories in black. |
| To all the Scapers who have made ScaperCon the event that it has become: thank you. You have been my Prozac, that one release every year where I can escape the daily grind and just relax with close friends. Most people go through their entire lives and never get the chance to experience anything like what we've shared. Life is a cruel mistress, as evidenced by the popularity of drugs like Prozac. I found something better. Scapers. |
| Every year there are a few more new people that I get to spend time with, but every year there are more people than time. For those Scapers that I haven't been able to spend a little time with, I apologize. Even if we never got the chance to visit or play, I know you, and I carry you in my heart. You've all contributed to make this event what it became and I'll never forget you. |

One of the greatest joys for me every year was to see the Shippers.
From that very first year in St. Louis, I've looked forward to seeing a
giggling pile of teenage girls moving through ScaperCon as a single
group and spilling joy and happiness wherever they went. Seeing a
single group of people so delighted to be together gave me a small ray
of hope for this world.
--- I consider myself very fortunate. This year I got to spend some time with a few of the Shippers. Okay, so maybe some of my views were a bit warped, but that, too, was part of that Shipper magic. Now that I've gotten to know a few of you, I'm not disappointed. You're better than I ever imagined. |

But enough oozing and dripping (and yes, AutumnH, that was toned down a lot).
